During October 27-31, 2025, the Institute of Zoology, Moldova State University, organized the working meeting within the Baltic & Black Sea Avian Disease Network project (2024-2026), having as main partner Linnaeus University of Sweden, and other partners from the Baltic and Black Sea basins: Birdlife Sverige, Ilia State University (Georgia), Moldova State University, National Scientific Center Institute of Experimental and Clinical Veterinary Medicine (Ukraine).

The Institute of Zoology and the Alexandru Ciubotaru National Botanical Garden (Institute) continues the series of information seminars within the project „Assessment of the state of plant, fungi and animal species, development of the list of species with rarity status and the algorithm for their presentation in the 4th edition of the Red Book of the Republic of Moldova", financed by the National Fund for the Environment.

On November 10, 2025, the Academy of Sciences of Moldova (ASM) organized the 4th edition of the Research and Innovation Festival, which had the topic "Science for Peace and Development: Creativity, Experience, Perspectives".

In the context of the International Day of Science for Peace and Development, marked annually on November 10, the Moldova State University organized the traditional Performance Gala in Research on November 8, 2025, with the aim of promoting research excellence within the university.

The Laboratory of Molecular Systematics and Phylogeny of the Institute of Zoology organised four lectures for the master’s students of the Faculty of Biology and Earth Sciences of the Moldova State University on 29-30 October 2025.

The International Exhibition of Scientific Research, Innovation, and Inventions PRO INVENT brings together researchers, inventors, and specialists from various fields annually, promoting innovation and technological development.

The 22nd edition of the exhibition, held from October 15-17, 2025 in Cluj-Napoca, included presentation of three inventions of the researchers from the Institute of Zoology, Moldova State University, all being awarded gold medals:

On the 10th of October 2025, the Institute of Zoology and the Alexandru Ciubotaru National Botanical Garden (Institute), Moldova State University of Moldova, organized an information seminar in the Center for Information and Ecological Education of the Plaiul Fagului Nature Reserve.

World Migratory Bird Day is celebrated twice a year, in May and October, in line with the cyclical nature of bird migration in different hemispheres.

In 2025, according to www.worldmigratorybirdday.org, the two peak dates of World Migratory Bird Day have been designated May 10 and October 11.

World Animal Day is an international day of action for animal rights and welfare, celebrated every year on October 4.
