The results of the scientific research on fauna and ecology of invertebrates, which were carried out in the Prutul de Jos Biosphere Reserve in 2002-2023, in the most diverse natural habitats, especially forest, meadow, palustral habitats, were included in the monograph „Fauna of the Prutul de Jos Biosphere Reserve. Invertebrates (Collembola, Odonata, Hemiptera, Coleoptera and Lepidoptera)”.

The mute swan (Cygnus olor) and the whooper swan (Cygnus cygnus) are vulnerable species, included in the Red Book of the Republic of Moldova (2015). They are large, robust and heavy birds with long and thin necks. Body weight is 9 kg in females and 12 kg in males, wingspan reaches 2-2.5 m. The swans are the largest water birds and are among the largest flying birds.

On 22-24 November 2023, a major event in the field of environmental education took place in Slănic-Moldova, Romania:  the "Environmental education, sport and the use of therapeutic natural resources" forum.

On December 8, 2023, at the Institute of Zoology, Moldova State University, a training on the identification of bat species using ultrasounds took place, within the cross-border project „CHIROHUB: a multi-tool for bat research and conservation in Romania and Moldova”, financed by EuroBats Project Initiative.

The Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova organized on 20 November 2023 the celebration of the Science Day in the Republic of Moldova. The event took place in the premises of the Palace of the Republic, with the participation of research institutions (universities, research institutes) from various fields – biology, medicine, agriculture, philology, economics, mathematics, physics, engineering, etc.

On 10 November 2023, the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, like the entire scientific community, celebrated the World Science Day for Peace and Development. In the festive meeting, organized on this occasion, various distinctions of ASM were handed out, including to the researchers of the Institute of Zoology:

On Science Day, ASM Award Laureates Gala gathered researchers to record the valuable results of those who devoted themselves to research.

The scientific researchers of the Institute of Zoology, MSU, participated during November 2-4, 2023 in the XIV edition of the international scientific conference "Ecology and Protection of Ecosystems", organized by the "Vasile Alecsandri" University of Bacau, Faculty of Sciences, Department of Biology, Ecology, and Environmental Protection, an event that stood out for its high scientific and academic attire.

In the context of the World Science Day for Peace and Development, the Moldova State University organized a festive event on 7 November 2023, called the Performance Gala in Research 2023.

From October 10 to 21, 2023, the Institute of Zoology was visited by Laëtitia Demay, Doctor of Prehistoric Archeology and scientific researcher of the National Museum of Natural History in Paris, France.

Throughout the visit, Mrs. Laëtitia Demay worked on the analysis of osteological and dental pieces from the Paleolithic sites Climăuți II (Climăuții de Jos, Șoldănești) and Duruitoarea Veche cave (Duruitoarea Veche, Râșcani).
