The Institute of Zoology organised on 20 May 2021 an online public informational seminar within the project eMS BSB 27 Black Sea Basin interdisciplinary cooperation network for sustainable joint monitoring of environmental toxicants migration, improved evaluation of ecological state and human health impact of harmful substances, and public exposure – MONITOX.

On 23 April 2021, the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Education and Research (in Romanian – Agenția Națională de Asigurare a Calității în Educație și Cercetare, ANACEC) handed, in a special ceremony, the awards ”Crystal of Quality” in the field of research for 2020.

The BSB165 project „Creating a system of innovative transboundary monitoring of the Black Sea river ecosystems transformation under impacts of hydropower development and climate change”, HydroEcoNex, foresees a series of events aimed to bring into attention of the general public the problems of management of aquatic resources in the Black Sea basin and disseminate the results obtained within the project.

On 27 March 2021, within the project BSB165 ”Creating a system of innovative transboundary monitoring of the Black Sea river ecosystems transformation under impacts of hydropower development and climate change”  – HydroEcoNex, the Institute of Zoology organised the knowledge transfer workshop ”Modifications of the functioning of aquatic ecosystems under the impact of hydropower construction and climate change”. 

Based on the collaboration agreement no.31/26 of 25.01.2021 between the Institute of Zoology and the National Agency for Food Safety (NAFS), between 22 and 26 February 2021, in the premises of the Institute of Zoology, the training of collaborators of the central apparatus of NAFS and the inspectors from state border inspection posts on the determination and identification of the presence of parasites in fish took place.

On February, 11, the scientific community celebrates the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, as result of the United Nations General Assembly resolution A/RES/70/212 adopted in December 2015. The initiative had the aim to promote the employment of women and girls in the sciences, to encourage the career development and participation in the decision-making processes in science, to recognize the achievements of women in science.

On February 12, 2021, at 14:00, at the Academy of Sciences of Moldova (1, Ștefan cel Mare şi Sfânt bd., Blue Hall), the correspondent member Elena Zubcov, head of the Center of Research of Hydrobiocenoses and Ecotoxicology, will present the public lecture with the topic Study of ecological status of the Dniester river ecosystem.

In November 18-20, 2020, at the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania, the PRO INVENT Scientific Research, Innovation and Invention Salon, 18th edition, was held on-line.
