The book  „Ichthyofauna of the Prut River (within the territorial limits of the Republic of Moldova) ”, authors – Bulat Denis, Şaptefrați Nicolae, Usatăi Marin, Bulat Dumitru, presents the results of scientific research and ichthyological observations in the macroecosystem of the Prut River under the conditions of the intensification of the anthropogenic factor. 

The fishing regulatory measures in the Republic of Moldova, which have been applied over the years in natural ecosystems, have not always been effective: either through the faulty organization of the exploitation of fish resources, non-compliance with the fishing regime, failure to assess the state of fish resources, the ineffectiveness of ameliorative measures etc., or through the imperfection of the normative framework. 

Scientific reports for 2022 on the implementation of research projects within the State Program 2020-2023 will be presented on 15 December 2022, starting with 9.00 am, in the Small Hall of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova.

The researchers of the Institute of Zoology participated on 10 November 2022 in the technical-scientific symposium "Conservation of urban biodiversity - the premise of the sustainable development of the Chisinau municipality", dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the founding of the „Green Spaces Management Association” Municipal Enterprise.

The meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Zoology from 11 November 2022 was a particularly solemn one, although it had on the agenda the examination and approval of scientific reports regarding the implementation of projects in 2022. The festive element was the handing out of honorary diplomas of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova to several researchers of the Institute of Zoology:

On 10 November 2022, the scientific community from the Republic of Moldova marked the World Science Day for Peace and Development, which over time turned into a professional day for workers in the field of research and innovation.

The theme of the 2022 edition, proposed by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), was "Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development".

The Institute of Zoology has participated in the 20th edition of the International Exhibition of Research, Innovations and Inventions PRO INVENT, which was held between 26 and 28 October 2022 in Cluj-Napoca. Exhibition is traditionally organized by the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca.                 

Between 22 August and 7 September 2022, the scientific researcher Alexandr Morozov (Laboratory of Molecular Systematics and Phylogeny) participated in a short-term scientific mission within the COST action CA17108, which was organized by the Norwegian University of Applied Sciences (Hamar city). The aim of the mission was the mastering the Nanopore sequencing protocol using DNA isolates from mosquitoes to identify the complete bacterial flora.

The Institute of Zoology participated with several works in the International Exhibition of Inventions and Innovations "Traian Vuia", the 8th edition. The exhibition, which is traditionally organised by the Society of Inventors from Banat, was held in Timisoara, Romania, between 8 and 10 October 2022.

This year, more exactly on 30 September, the European Researchers' Night was organized in the Republic of Moldova in two main locations – in the park of the Technical University of Moldova (Chisinau municipality) and the square of the Aleco Russo University from Balti.
