The series of festive events dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the creation of the first research subdivisions and the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Institute of Zoology ended on October 8, 2021. The meeting was attended by Corresponding Member of ASM Svetlana Cojocaru, Vice-President of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, Coordinator of the Exact and Engineering Sciences Section, who handed out distinctions of the ASM to some employees of the Institute of Zoology.

On 16-17 September 2021, the 10th International Conference of Zoologists "Sustainable use and protection of animal world in the context of climate change" dedicated to the 75th anniversary from the creation of the first research subdivisions and the 60th from the foundation of the Institute of Zoology took place within the Institute of Zoology.

It is official – the implementation period of the project ”Black Sea Basin interdisciplinary cooperation network for sustainable joint monitoring of environmental toxicants migration, improved evaluation of ecological state and human health impact of harmful substances, and public exposure” – MONITOX (code eMS BSB27) ended on Sunday, 19 September 2021.

On 15 September 2021, the Institute of Zoology organizes the international workshop “Monitoring the Dniester and Prut rivers and indicators of the impact of hydropower constructions on the functioning of transboundary aquatic ecosystems” within the project “Creating a system of innovative transboundary monitoring of the Black Sea river ecosystems transformation under impacts of hydropower development and climate change“ - HydroEcoNex (eMS code BSB165).

The Institute of Zoology participated in the Moldova 2021 Environment Day Festival, which took place on 26 June at the EcoLocal fair (Chisinau), at the invitation of the Association of Environmental and Ecological Tourism Journalists (AEETJ).

The Institute of Zoology invites everyone to join the open informational event within the project BSB27 “Black Sea Basin interdisciplinary cooperation network for sustainable joint monitoring of environmental toxicants migration, improved evaluation of ecological state and human health impact of harmful substances, and public exposure” – MONITOX. Project is implemented within the Joint Operational Program Black Sea Basin 2014-2020, financed by the European Union. 

On 24-26 May 2021, within the on-going project 2 SOFT/1.2/47 Team up for healthy fish in aquaculture systems of the Prut river basin – TeamUp HealthyFish (Joint Operational Program Romania-Republic of Moldova 2014-2020 funded by the European Union), a joint field expedition was made with the participation of researchers of the Institute of Zoology and the Iași Ion Ionescu de la Brad University of Life Sciences (former Iași Ion Ionescu de la Brad University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine).

The methodological guide ”Parasitofauna, the impact of parasitosis on the common pheasant’s (Phasianus colchicus L.) organism, prophylaxis and treatment” is elaborated within the projects of the 2020-2023 State Program (project code: 20.80009.7007.12 and 20.80009.7007.02, leaders: academician, university professor Ion Toderaş, doctor habilitat, associate professor Galina Buşmachiu).
