On Friday, January 29, 2021, starting with 11.00, in the Mircea Ciuhrii conference room, 2nd floor, office no. 253, 1, Academiei Street, the launching seminar of the project 2 SOFT/1.2/47 Team up for healthy fish in aquaculture systems of the Prut river basin (acronym – TeamUp HealthyFish) will take place. The event is organized by the Institute of Zoology.

On Monday, December 28, 2020, researchers from the Institute of Zoology (IZ)) and of the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine in Iasi (Romania) (USAMV), met in an online kick off meeting, organized within the project “Team up for healthy fish in aquaculture systems of the Prut river basin" - 2SOFT / 1.2 / 47.

At the meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Zoology on November 26, 2020, the scientific reports for 2020 on the execution of research projects within the State Program 2020-2023 were presented and approved:

Researchers' Night is one of the most popular events, which target the general public and aim to promote scientific activity and stimulate interest in research careers, especially among young people.

     From October 13 to 15, 2020, in Timișoara, Romania, the International Exhibition of Inventions and Innovations "Traian Vuia" took place, the 6th edition, which is one of the most popular fairs of invention and innovation of Romania. The event was organized by the Society of Inventors from Banat in partnership with SC REMIR SRL. President of the Exhibition - Rémi Rădulescu, President of the Society of Inventors of Banat, and the President of the Jury - Camelia Marinescu.

On the occasion of the World Science Day for Peace and Development, with the theme “Science for and with society” in 2020, the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research awarded Honorary Diplomas to several scientific researchers of the Institute of Zoology:

The World Science Day for Peace and Development, marked every year on 10 November, was established on 2 November 2001, at the 31st session of the UNESCO General Conference, by Resolution 20/31C, in order to highlight the important role of science in society and the need to engage the general public in debates on important contemporary issues relevant to science. World Science Day was celebrated for the first time worldwide on November 10, 2002, under the auspices of UNESCO.

The International Conference Environmental Toxicants in Freshwater and Marine Ecosystems in the Black Sea Basin took place between 8 and 11 September 2020, being organised within the project BSB 27 MONITOX by the International Hellenic University from Kavala, Greece and the University Dunarea de Jos from Galati, Romania. In the context of the current epidemiological situation in the World, caused by COVID-19, the conference took place online, with broadcasts from Greece, Romania and the Republic of Moldova.

Between July 29-31, 2020, the 24th International Exhibition of Inventions INVENTICA 2020 took place. Due to the current global situation related to the pandemic COVID-19, Technical University „Gheorghe Asachi” of Iasi and the National Institute of Inventions Iasi have decided to organize online the 24th Edition of the International Exhibition of Inventions INVENTICA 2020.

The second international conference within the BSB27 MONITOX project – Environmental Challenges in the Black Sea Basin: the Impact on Human Health – took place on 23-26 September 2020, being organized by the Lead Beneficiary of the project – the Dunarea de Jos University of Galați, Romania. One of the sessions of the conference was organized in the premises of the Institute of Zoology, being moderated by cor.mem. Elena Zubcov and dr. Lucia Bilețchi.
