On the 10th of October 2025, the Institute of Zoology and the Alexandru Ciubotaru National Botanical Garden (Institute), Moldova State University of Moldova, organized an information seminar in the Center for Information and Ecological Education of the Plaiul Fagului Nature Reserve. World Animal Day is an international day of action for animal rights and welfare, celebrated every year on October 4. The event was initiated by Heinrich Zimmermann who organized the first World Animal Day on March 24, 1925 at the Sports Palace in Berlin, Germany. Over 5.000 people attended this first event.
