Earth's biodiversity, formed over millions of years, is one of humanity's greatest treasures. Among the most numerous, from all the animal kingdom on Earth, stand out the invertebrates which, constituting over 80% of the total number of described species, are present in all types of habitats and on all continents. On April 26, 2024 the Institute of Zoology hosted 26 students of the Faculty of Biology and Geosciences of the Moldova State University, first year, undergraduate cycle (study programs Biology, Biology and Geography, Education Sciences, Molecular Biology and Ecology). The methodological guide includes the biology, ecology and distribution of 98 leaf- and planthopper species from 60 genera and 10 families. The biological cycle of these species are related to various tree species, fruiting and forest shrubs, vine plantations. Cicadas belong to Class Insecta, order Hemiptera, suborder Auchenorrhyncha.
