The Laboratory of Molecular Systematics and Phylogeny of the Institute of Zoology organised four lectures for the master’s students of the Faculty of Biology and Earth Sciences of the Moldova State University on 29-30 October 2025.
The topics of the lectures were as follows:
• Mathematical modelling of ecological processes for evaluating environmental safety – Nadejda Railean, Scientific Researcher;
• The role of interdisciplinary research in ecosystem analysis and protection – Nadejda Railean, Scientific Researcher;
• Assessment of antioxidant and anti-proliferative activity of synthetic substances – Olga Garbuz, PhD, Leading Scientific Researcher;
• Testing and evaluation of the toxicity of synthetic substances – Olga Garbuz, PhD, Leading Scientific Researcher.
Current environmental protection issues were addressed, and master’s students participated in interactive discussions, asking questions and exchanging opinions with researchers from the Institute of Zoology.
These activities expanded the students’ knowledge, developed the professional skills necessary for a scientific career, and strengthened the connection between theoretical research and practical application in the fields of ecology and biochemistry, stimulating interdisciplinary collaboration and promoting innovation in these scientific areas.
