On November 10, 2025, the Academy of Sciences of Moldova (ASM) organized the 4th edition of the Research and Innovation Festival, which had the topic "Science for Peace and Development: Creativity, Experience, Perspectives".
The festival began in the Golden Hall of the ASM with an exhibition of recent achievements of research institutions. The event continued in the Azure Hall of the ASM with a festive session, during which the ASM Awards for valuable scientific results, obtained in the 2023–2024 period in the field of life sciences, exact sciences and engineering, and the "Valeriu Canțer" Award for young researchers were awarded. Among the laureates are also two researchers from the Institute of Zoology – Dr.Hab. Galina Bușmachiu, and Dr.Hab. Svetlana Bacal from the Professor Boris Vereșciaghin Laboratory of Entomology, who obtained the Alexandru Ciubotaru Award in the field of biology and ecology.
In the same festive atmosphere, diplomas and medals of the ASM were awarded to people from various fields of science, who have contributed substantially to the promotion of scientific research, the development of the technical base of research institutions (institutes, universities), the training of highly qualified personnel and/or the promotion of the ASM image. Among those awarded are:
- Laurenția Ungureanu, Dr.Hab., Associate Professor, corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, director of the Institute of Zoology - Nicolae Milescu Spătarul Medal of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova;
- Natalia Zubcov, PhD, Associate Professor, Leading Scientific Researcher, Laboratory of Hydrobiology and Ecotoxicology of the Institute of Zoology – Diploma of Academic Merit of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova;
- Lucia Bilețchi, PhD, Associate Professor, Scientific Secretary of the Institute of Zoology – Diploma of Academic Merit of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova.
