Information seminar at the Chisinau College of Ecology

The Institute of Zoology and the Alexandru Ciubotaru National Botanical Garden (Institute) continues the series of information seminars within the project „Assessment of the state of plant, fungi and animal species, development of the list of species with rarity status and the algorithm for their presentation in the 4th edition of the Red Book of the Republic of Moldova", financed by the National Fund for the Environment.

Thus, on November 13, 2025, a seminar was organized for students and teaching staff of the Chisinau College of Ecology. Students from the specialties of Pisciculture and Aquaculture, Forestry and Public Gardens, Tourism were informed about:
- updating the list of fish species from the Red Book of the Republic of Moldova (4th edition);
- in-situ conservation of the species Carpinus orientalis Mill. in the Republic of Moldova;
- current status of rare bird species in the Republic of Moldova;
- bats (Chiroptera, Mammalia) in the fauna of the Republic of Moldova;
- insect species from the Red Book of the Republic;
- distribution of rare lichen species in the country's ecosystems.

The presentations were made by the researchers from the Moldova State University, as following: Dumitru Bulat, Dr.Hab., Associate Professor, Vladislav Caldari, PhD, Victor Sîtnic, PhD, Elena Enciu, PhD, Associate Professor (Institute of Zoology), Ghenadie Titica, PhD (Alexandru Ciubotaru National Botanical Garden (Institute)) and Adam Begu, Dr.Hab, University  Professor (Institute of Ecology and Geography). The seminar was moderated by Ms. Lucia Bilețchi, PhD, Associate Professor, scientific secretary of the Institute of Zoology.

The project organizers sincerely thank the administration of the Chisinau College of Ecology for their responsiveness and contribution to the good organization of the event.
